Every week ROR features a few dogs and cats that are have been with our rescue
for a lengthy amount of time. A portion of their adoption fees are
sponsored by wonderful people that wish to see these babies in their new
loving fur-ever homes. Please check back weekly.

Ava

Please meet Ava. Ava has had a very rough start. We rescued her from a high-kill pound in NW IN. Ava had just given birth to three puppies when we saved her. Her babies were so small. Upon examination and x-rays, the vet found another baby stuck in her birth canal. Ava had to have an emergency c-section. They found a tiny baby, already decomposing in her. They also found a bullet in her side, just under the skin. She was very lucky that it did not penetrate her ribs. Ava was very weak and sick, and sadly, her puppies did not make it. After several weeks, Ava began to gain weight and she was finally healthy. But, her sadness still exists - you see, Ava is stuck in boarding because we have no open foster homes for her. Ava is a great girl and LOVES people, but she loves them so much that she needs to be the only pet. No cats, no dogs. Ava really is a good girl. She keeps her kennel clean, is polite when taken outside, and just is butt wiggles when she meets a new human friend. Please, consider taking Ava home. A portion of her adoption fee has been sponsored to help her find a home. Please contact Jaime if you are interested in Ava, dogadoptions@rornfp.org for more info.

Faith

Please say hello to an amazing girl! Faith is a beautiful (pictures just do not do justice) 3 year old Tortie. She has been with us for a very long time. She originally came to us with her mama, Krystal, in 2009 when she was taken from an unfit owner. Both Krystal & Faith were extremely pregnant upon arriving to ROR, and gave birth within a day of each other just a week after their rescue. All the babies found great homes, and eventually, so did Krystal and Faith. Sadly, a year later, Faith's family was evicted from their home and dumped her in a cat carrier at a bus stop in Chicago. We were contacted by a vet in the city who had scanned her for a chip. Thankfully, the owners never switched over the info or she may have never came back to us. We, of course, welcomed Faith back into ROR with open and loving arms. She has been back with us since October of 2010. Faith currently lives in a foster home with other cats, dogs, and children. Faith does very well with all her "friends". She is a very sweet girl that tends to just mind her own business. She does not mind being picked up, but is not your typical "lap cat". She loves to sleep on the cat tower (as you can see in the pics) or on a soft bed. She really does like other cats and her foster mom will find her curled up with another cat quite often. Faith does not use her claws on anything but the cat tower, scratching posts, or an occasional cardboard box. Faith's foster mom says she is such a pleasure to have around, so quiet but does have moments of a "play spurt". She is really longing fro her fur-ever family. Faith's adoption fee is only $50 and she is fully vetted. If you are interested in Faith, please contact Kim, our Feline Adoption Coordinator, at kjayne@rornfp.org for more info.
